Electric Forest opens it gates to all adventurers this weekend, but for the first time ever, this coming weekend will only be one of two.

Forest HQ made the move to two wonderful weekends in the hopes of creating a more intimate experience for all of their travelers, and it’s looking to be just that. With one of the more expansive lineups of the festival season, Electric Forest is sure to be one of the summer’s best.

But for many, the Forest is about more than just the music.

To truly see what makes Electric Forest glow year after year, let’s take a look at all of the incredible features, programs, and experiences that make it such a memorable festival:

The Forest

Each year, Double JJ Resort is transformed into The Forest — an immersive festival grounds unlike any other. As far as camping festivals are concerned, this is the pinnacle of feeling at one with nature. With stages, art galleries, & all sorts of surprises hidden within the layers of trees, The Forest is more of a magical playground than anything else.

The People

If you’re not aware yet, Electric Forest is a destination location for any & all in the electronic music scene. The People of E Forest travel thousands of miles & plan for months just to make it out, and many more are still awaiting their chance to visit for the first time. That being said, those who do arrive are not there just to be there — the fairies & folk of E Forest are always prepared to go all-out. The energy is unmatched, the costumes & outfits are well put together, and the entire community is there for each other. Come be a part of something bigger than yourself!

The Programs

For a festival as massive as Electric Forest, there are endless opportunities for involvement. Thankfully, E Forest uses its resources to work towards environmental consciousness, community outreach, and technological innovation — among many other causes. Whether working towards sustainability with the Electricology Program, helping feed the hungry at the Food Drive, or garnering support for education with the Music in Schools Program, there is a program for everyone. Giving back is one of the best ways to become a true member of the Forest Family, so get excited to Do More at E Forest!

The Waterpark

Yes, you read that right — Electric Forest has its own waterpark. Located on site at the Double JJ Resort, you & your crew are only a complimentary shuttle ride away from a full-service waterpark. Complete with slides, a lazy river, and both indoor & outdoor sections, there’s something for everyone. The best part — each admission ticket comes with a complimentary shower, so get your clean on after getting your swim on.

The Music

Alright, alright this article wasn’t supposed to be about the tunes… but have you seen that lineup? With the jam band giants that are String Cheese Incident & the legendary bass-lord Bassnectar covering both weekends, that should be enough to draw anyone in. Nevertheless, there are hundreds of artists performing throughout the festival’s two weekends, including (but certainly not limited to) Odesza, Flume, Dillon Francis, Lotus, Nero, Tycho, and The Revivalists. Add in the immersive stage set-ups & the surprise sets not included on the lineup, and Electric Forest is clearly a can’t-miss event!

Tickets are still on sale for Weekend Two! Grab ’em while you can, & we’ll meet you at ♦The Forest♦

Electric Forest is just a few days away, and we can hardly wait to be back in the middle of the musical madness! In an effort to contain our excitement for the big weekend upon us, we collected of favorite photos of all things Electric Forest. These photos are the essence of why we love the Forest, and why it is the place to be this summer. Check out the Forest in all it’s glory and read on to see why exactly we’re stoked to get back!

1. The Forest feels like home

2. The Scenic Sights

3. The Killer Lineup

4. The People

Need anymore convincing? Grab your tickets and we’ll see you in the forest.

Before we begin, check out this video Electric Forest released on theirYouTube Channel last week.

Yeah. That happened. And that was just a highlights reel.

Electric Forest is one of our favorite Summer events. This year, over 45,000 Foresters flocked to Rothbury, Michigan to attend the sold out festival featuring both huge names like The String Cheese Incident and Skrillex as well as our favorite buzz bands like Kevin Garrett and Made in Heights!

Here are a few clips, pics and snippets from a few weekends ago – stroll down memory lane with us as we reminisce and anxiously count down ‘til #EF2016.

The Performances:

The String Cheese Incident played a 3.5 hour set…and we loved every second of it. Arial acrobatics from a hot air balloon, blimp drones, confetti, oversized beachballs – we’re all about it.

Macy Gray throws back to a classic, revamped with Galactic and a grooving crowd. Excuse us as we get transported back to yesteryear and sing along.

Lindsey Stirling goes from YouTube sweetheart to rocking a packed set while fiddling w/ our hearts.

Artists’ Social Media:

Perusing Instagram is one of our favorite past times. Here are a few from #EF2015 by way of the artists.

Odesza, up close and personal.

Come back anytime, Flume.

Dancing to Allison Wonderland is our happy place.

Can we also join the fam Skrillex?

We will sport this look with you any day, Sarah!

The Foresters:

Like this dapper dude sporting hydrodye – a new technique for body paint spotted everywhere around the forest. (Ben Westoff)

And these beautiful folks at Bassnectar sending #goodvibes (@electricforest IG)

And these Foresters who are actually lions. (David Garber)

These kind people leaving love and other tchotchkes at the Giving Tree. (David Garber)
