With August right around the corner, it’s time for yet another great year of Summer Set Music & Camping Festival!
Taking place in Somerset, WI from August 11th-13th, it’s sure to be a weekend full of all the music, art, and nature you could ever ask for! If you haven’t yet, check out the insane lineup below:
With a lineup this dense, its hard to know who’s a must-see and who will have to sadly be skipped. Luckily for you, we’ve compiled a list of our top five artists that will be playing over the weekend! Check it out:
As one of the absolute front-runners of the electronic music scene, Zeds Dead is a must-attend, whether your first or tenth time seeing them. After just finishing up an immaculate showing at their annual Dead Rocks at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Zeds Dead is back on their festival game. With their Northern Lights album recently released, their new artist collective Dead Beats just launched, and their headlining status, the duo that is Zeds Dead is more than ready to throw down!
While he is most definitely a rapper, it would be a shame to put Post Malone in such a box. Posty is a diverse artist with influences from many genres; Hollywood Dreams, one of his most popular songs off of his mixtape August 26, is a cover of a Fleetwood Mac song. Known for energetic live performances full of bangers, slow jams, and even the occasional new song, Post Malone is a must-see. If you’re not sold on him yet, check out the video for his single Congratulations below!
With an exponential amount of new artists coming into the game daily, it is something special to be heralded as the king of electronic trap music. For RL Grime, this is not a title he has claimed, but earned. Coming into the mainstream with his insane remix of Kanye’s Mercy followed by the even more show-stopping rework of Benny Benassi’s Satisfaction, RL Grime has been releasing explosive tracks ever since. Pair this with his years of experience playing massive live DJ sets, and that’s a recipe for a great night!
If you’re a fan of Odesza, future electronic, or just instrumental electronic in general, Big Wild should already be a name that you’re familiar with. If not, get excited to become acquainted with the only one-man show you need to know. Big Wild released his debut EP, Invincible, earlier this year, and you can hear him shine through as an excellent drummer with an ear for creative kick-snare patterns. You can catch him all performance either banging away on his drum pads or getting ready to cue his next track, but don’t stare too long or you might get lost in his rhythms… check out his hit single Aftergold below!
If you came to get funky, GRiZ is here to help you out. As the saxophone-slaying, synth-laying, bass-banging deity he is, GRiZ is one of the most genuine electronic artists to come onto the scene. Often using his fame to garner support for non-profits, his moniker “Show Love, Spread Love” is a staple of his community outreach. If that isn’t enough reason to support him, have you heard his music? With a surplus of hard-hitting singles, a live charisma that could match any pop star, and that saxophone, how could you say no!
With summer in full swing, it’s never a bad time to get your festival on. If you haven’t already bought yours, tickets are still available for Summer Set: right here!
Any other artists you’re more excited to see than these five? Let us know on social media at Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram!
Grant Kwiecinski, the 25 year old Southfield, MI native, has already gained a loyal following and received top reviews and accolades from Detroit Music Magazine, SPIN and The Untz in just 4 years of being active.
GRiZ (as he’s more commonly referred to) is known for playing live saxophone during his energetic sets. What started as a childhood extracurricular has transformed into the signature sound that keeps fans ravenous for more. He’s taken his funk electro-soul / future-funk party all across the globe by supporting acts like Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, Gramatic and Big Gigantic as well as headlining his own tour and appearing at festivals like Electric Zoo, Electric Forest, TomorrowWorld, Decadence, Snowball and Lollapalooza.
Check out some of our favorite clips, pics and performances from this rising star and, dare we say, future of EDM.
His festival touring strategy is insane. And he loves it:
