The Central Texas Food Bank is the largest hunger-relief charity in Central Texas, serving 21 counties for nearly 35 years. With the help of food donors, financial supporters, and volunteers, the food bank is able to contribute millions of nourishing meals each year to people facing hunger.

Last week, we took a field trip to their warehouse to get involved and learn about the fight against hunger. Nearly all 100+ FGT employees spent the day sorting food, creating meal packages, and giving back to the community!

Our shift consisted of inspecting food for safety, breaking down boxes, separating compost from trash, and making packages to be delivered to families.

Our efforts sorted 15,964 pounds of food to be delivered to Central Texans!

Hunger affects all kinds of people – from working families, children and teens, the chronically ill and disabled, and retired seniors with fixed incomes. With organizations like the Central Texas Food Bank, we are able to help our neighbors and relieve food insecurity.
